A talk about Children in India by Noreen Partridge

Noreen Partridge first went to India as a challenge – to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.
Her journey took her to north India and to some of the poorest villages. Here she visited a school which had very poor facilities; few pencils, chalks, no tables or chairs etc., and most of the children were without shoes.
Greatly affected by this she decided, on her return to do something and with the help of the Lynn News, managed to persuade the public to knit and supply enough jumpers for each of the children.
This was all explained to us in her talk. Her slides illustrated her return to India to give the jumpers to the children, along with lots of smaller items. The joy and excitement on the children’s faces affected us all and £106 was raised for her fund. Certainly an evening to make us all realise how fortunate we are.
